That's mostly due to our differing views on the character of God. I tend to hold the belief that God is perfect, and any apparent flaws in his "character" are subject to my lack of understanding, whereas for the atheist is quite the opposite or non-existent altogether.
Why hold the belief that God is perfect and we're the flawed ones? Especially without any evidence for the existence of god in the first place, regardless of his character?
