The new law is written on our hearts now. Aka "Love"

So..the Ten Commandments.. you'd say christians trying to plaster them in courthouses are silly because the ten commandments don't apply to us anymore?

He was a Marshall Applewhite who happen to be born into a particularly susceptible part of the world during a susceptible age.

He is the ultimate example of why the land of Israel didn't need any prophets, but the world had an unfulfilled need for many insane asylums in the land of Israel.

While it is interesting that you believe the christ was a cult leader - the christ of the bible is clearly a MYTH. There MAY have been a HUMAN upon which the MYTHOLOGY of the bible was started - but it is just as clear that humans are not capable of some of the things claimed by religions - about their gods.

I'd say it's silly for that reason and the reason that the plastering of the ten commandments in courthouses does nothing for the judicial system.

The ten commandments can be broken down to: Love God and Love People. Just treat everyone with love, there's no need for the ten commandments as the law.

Sorry bud, I can't do both at the same time. God fucking hates people. Makes him a little hard to love -while- loving people.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

That's a law for morons. The better law is "discernment". Belief in your god would be a violation.

I totally understand. That's mostly due to our differing views on the character of God. I tend to hold the belief that God is perfect, and any apparent flaws in his "character" are subject to my lack of understanding, whereas for the atheist is quite the opposite or non-existent altogether.

Why hold the belief that God is perfect and we're the flawed ones? Especially without any evidence for the existence of god in the first place, regardless of his character?

Granted, Hez, it would be difficult to imagine a better example of hatred than xenocide. The perfect douche.

Love and discernment go hand-in-hand. That's the metaphor of the law being "written on our hearts". Each individual is responsible for their own hearts.
