Think there's a lot of stereo types out there when it comes to what avid gamers look and dress like. I've known (and dated) some hot gamers. :-)

I should clarify; I don't think that being a gamer makes you unattractive. I just don't see why it would makes someone think they're attractive. Like those guys wearing the video game shirts. I have never seen someone wearing a video game shirt and though that I could relate to them even on a superficial level. I used to be an avid gamer before I got tired of the repetitive structure of video games.

It's like any other social group. Being part of the group makes them attractive to each other. It also warns off others. It's signaling.

Like I said, being a gamer doesn't make you unattractive. It doesn't do the opposite either though. I don't care if you like games. I just don't see how liking videogames could be considered anything more than an inconsequential attribution of a person's personality.
