If you decide that god cannot be proven to exist and therefore the issue must be determined by faith (that is, belief regardless of proof) then the person who claims that god does not exist is indeed in the same boat as you are. He has used the very same method to come to the completely opposite conclusion. Doesn't that invalidate faith as a way of determining whether god does or does not exist?
