That, my friend, is almost complete and utter horseshyte. Anyone who says the conflicts in NI are not religion-based hasn't seem grown men shouting at 6 year old school girls and call them 'little Papist cunts.'

Don't you find it odd that virtually all unionists are Protestant and all republicans are Catholic?

Yes I actually have noticed that but that type of violence is going away, you have been away for a while but at the 12th this year there wasn't a riot, but unfortunately there is a lot of racist hate crime about.

RE: Abortion not allowed
Humanity is the sticking point. Personhood is clear in my mind not to include pre birth human beings, and is irrelevant to this discussion. From conception the human being is very much alive and nothing at all or in any way comparable to a toe nail, a dead person or any other ridiculous example you have for us esq. Your entire argument against the possible morality of Gods act to take human life at any point is that it is somehow illegal. Just because human life is sacrosanct, in your view, for no other reason than it being human life. On the other hand, when it comes to terminating pre birth human life, suddenly tables are turned, and human life is now expendable without need to involve moral judgement. I'm afraid I call hypocrite.

So it's the strawman, then? Okay, glad we got that sorted. Rolleyes

The fact that personhood doesn't include pre-birth humans, Frodo, is precisely my point, because to my mind the important question is, what makes a human being valuable? What is it in one that we ascribe value to?

It's not the life signs, except insofar as those life signs allow for the continuation of the actual person, the mind. You claim that I find human life valuable because it's human life, and that's not true; I find human life valuable because I find sentience and self awareness valuable. I find those things valuable because they're what allow me to make value judgments at all, and to consider the world in which I find myself. Those are things which are worth preserving in people, and they are things which fetuses do not possess.

Of course, in your rush to tell me what my position is, despite the fact that I told you what my position is before and your strawman bears no resemblance to my original argument beyond a few key words that demonstrate that you do remember it and are therefore lying, you've missed that point.

But I trust everyone else can see that your representation of my argument is being pulled directly out of your ass, and is as dishonest as most of your other posts on these sorts of issues. Dodgy
