I don't know why they don't tell us the specifics which made Creed's banning a permanent one but I assume it is a policy with a purpose, probably as much to protect Creed's privacy as his victim. Regardless it can't be very pleasant to ban someone we all know and like. So if they do so, it must have been consistent with the rules as they interpret them based on more evidence than the rest of us have available. I know. I wasn't trying to insinuate that the mods acted unfairly. I was only holding out that maybe the offense was forgivable. It just sucks that one of the better members, it seemed to me, is gone for good, when we get so much garbage on here.

One of the hardest lessons to learn in life is that some of the most heinous shit people do to each other will never be visible to others outside of a situation unless those outsiders are told, or shown. And sometimes it's not worth doing because of privacy or respect. You can't always tell what people are capable of.
People were shocked when I told them about some of the things my ex said to me after our break up. "But he seems like such a good guy!" Yeah, well, even good guys fuck up (in Creed's case) or act up (in my ex's case) because of internal issues.

What is garbage to some, it's treasure to others. The issue was dealt with accordingly and we have a very good reason for that.
Can we please move on?

That is a wise plan of action.

I would imagine something along those lines. And I think it is a good policy. If the gory details were always made public, I would probably look for another forum, as per your idea above. There is more than enough drama and contention without such things.

The solution to that is simple; Stop liking people, and then no one you like will ever be banned.

As my mother always said, "Be careful what you wish for; it may come true". So, to know the facts is probably to be either very bored or disappointed, or to subject yourself to a little too much awkwardness.
