By default Chrome in Windows picks up it's proxy settings from IE.

Have you tried resetting to default settings? :

Click the Tools (spanner) menu.
Select Options.
Click the Under the Hood tab.
Click Reset to defaults.
In the confirmation dialog, verify your selection by clicking Reset to defaults.
Click Close

What exactly do you want me to take a screenshot of? There are a lot of different categories to choose from, whether it be privacy, security, proxy settings, internet, etc.

That's why I asked for "network" settings. Proxy / internet settings cover that.

I wouldn't say google's a slut but they're reaching for apple's status which is in between being a tramp and a hooker. Sorry to any mac fan boy's feelings I hurt.
