Dems and long term mistakes.

RE: Dems and long term mistakes.
The Democrats positively gift wrapped this election for the GOP.

Couple lessons to learn:

1. Take a stand on some issues.
2. Stop being GOP lite. It's a proven losing strategy.
3. Stop letting the GOP frame the debate.
4. Most of all, stop publicly whimpering, "Oh God, this election is going to be a disaster for us" before the election. That doesn't fire up the base.

I wonder how effective election TV commercials really are. Any reason to believe they're actually worth having?

I can't help but think that money could have better been used to help the campaign in other ways.

6. Be liberal and leave honest people alone
7. Just because it's a good idea doesn't mean it should be mandatory
8. Just because it's a bad idea doesn't mean it should be illegal
9. Just because the GOP sucks, doesn't mean you get a pass

Global corporatism is fucking our species and America's GOP is leading the charge. They masturbate over China and India's cheap labor like porn not giving one fuck that wages have not kept up with the cost of living, much less about climate change which SCIENCE IS PROVING HUMANS ARE CAUSING.

Somehow these fuckers take that to mean want one party fascism. NO YOU FUCKWADS! We simply want better conditions and to remove the greed and exploitation and monopoly of money in politics.

I am using a computer made by the private sector. I am paying a private business to use the internet. I know those things are needed, I simply want the world to stop thinking it is ok for 85 uber billionaires to dictate to the rest of the planet. There is more than the rich class on this planet and they need to simply stop fucking being greedy fucks. No one is telling the private sector to go away. JUST STOP FUCKING THE REST OF US OVER.

Libertarians are fucking worse than republicans, they stupidly think that less regulation will work. We had 30 years of deregulation. The only way less government works is when business does the right thing on it's own and only a fucking moron would claim it has been.

ALL ASPECTS OF LIFE are run by humans, be it political party, religion and business, and as such ANYTHING left to it's own devices without checks on it can become abusive. Business does not deserve anymore a pass than a political party or religion. Without anti monopoly concepts abuse will arise in any of those things.

Abolishing the minimum wage would be effectively legalizing slavery. There's no way in hell that businesses would pay workers more than what they have to, and for many jobs, that would be basically nothing.

No way. So a murderer or rapist gets out of jail and gets a guaranteed income from the government?

All that does is free their time up to plan another crime. At least if they are at one of these programs they aren't sitting around all day plotting another rape or murder.

Most ex-cons are not rapists and murderers. Most of them are petty thieves, pot smokers and check kiters. And one of the main reasons they get back into crime is that they can't support themselves.

And the notion that having a job will keep someone from raping or murdering if that's what they're inclined to do is kind of silly. "I was going to rape someone tonight, but I'm just too tired from work. Looks like I'll have to wait for a day off.'

It's almost like you completely missed the half of Heywood's proposal that involves a minimum income.

Shit even with what it is now there is no way even 15per hour you could live in New York city without working two jobs and having a roommate. 15 in a rural area for a single person would work. But pay has to keep up with cost of living and be a ratio no matter what.

It is not tyranny to say that wages need to meet cost of living and the rich can afford to pay it, they simply do not want to pay it. Stupid thing is they don't understand that if they did, it would increase business.

Ultimately I am against minimum wage. I am for profit shares. Productivity goes up when it's rewarded directly.

The $25 minimum wage didn't pass, with over 70% of voters against it. It's purchasing power would have been the equivalent of about a $14 an hour wage in the USA.

I wasn't writing in regards to Heywood or anyone else specifically, just the general idea I often hear conservatives suggest (without qualification about any minimum income, which I'm down with, but hardly seems realistic with our current politicians).
