As progressive as the Pope is, he's still a Pope...

Wonder if there will be any attempted citizen arrests of the pope when he is in the US next year ??

Hell, as leader of a criminal enterprise, just in regards to child rape, maybe the pope would be detained by the authorities and face charges for that ??

There are many outraged victims and their families.

And to this day, has the church been transparent, forthcoming, or responsible in aiding criminal prosecution of ALL the pedos ??

They are still shielding assets from legal judgments too.

It would be nice if the Justice Department would hit them with RICO.

It's great ta be da "head of state."

Pope is diplomatically immune

Quote:When Benedict went to Britain in 2010, British author and atheist campaigner Richard Dawkins asked authorities to arrest the pope to face questions over the Church's child abuse scandal.

Dawkins and the late British-American journalist Christopher Hitchens commissioned lawyers to explore ways of taking legal action against the pope. Their efforts came to nothing because the pope was a head of state and so enjoyed diplomatic immunity.

Perhaps if some sympathetic lawyers want to do some pro bono work? Otherwise I'm assuming the strategy is wishful but not practical.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat? Huh

Just a quick question about the thread title...

This pope is progressive?
In every country and every age, the priest had been hostile to Liberty.

He is agreeing with science now and trying to put a god wrapper over it like a snickers candy bar.

They've been doing that for like 40 years, it's nothing new.

Well, he's progressive compared to his two predecessors, which doesn't say much.
