Well your point is well taken. I'm pretty sure the republican party would do everything in their power to thwart any and all efforts to govern on the part of the democratic party. It wouldn't matter if the democratic party adopted each and every plank of the republican party. The republican party is dedicated to nothing being accomplished under the watch of a democratically controlled government. Period.
Even after their recent success at the polls, the petulant republican party with majorities in both houses expects the democratic party to cater to them in order to get them to govern responsibly. You'd think they'd want to show that government can work now that they've gotten more control. But in the matter of Obama's recent executive action in regards to illegal aliens the republicans would prefer to pout unless the other party encourages them to do the responsible thing by giving them their way. Fuck them.
Your claim is that the republicans won't pass anything the democrats embrace because they hate the democrats....correct? I don't accept this claim but it is certainly a lot more plausible than DP's claim that the republicans won't govern just because Obama is black.
DP's claim is simply moronic.

Not exactly. My claim is that the republicans are power mad and have no genuine concern or patriotism for the country. They simply want to be in control and will do absolutely anything to get it. If they 'hate democrats' it is only because they are an obstacle to their power mad aspirations.

We effectively have a two party system. Suppose we could accurately quantify cooperation between the two parties. 100 would mean the two parties agree and cooperate on everything. 0 would mean they agree on nothing and don't cooperate at all. Let X represent the amount of cooperation at any given moment.
Now we should expect X to move up or down over time. It is silly to think that X is a constant. We should expect that occasionally X will move closer to 0 and at other times it will move closer to 100. There will also be occasional outlying situations where X is at extremes....kinda like a 100 year flood.
Politically...I think we are in one of those 100 year flood situations. X has moved much more closer to 0. Because of happenstance, it is simply inevitable that occasionally X will be close to 0. I don't blame either party for what we observe today but rather just chalk it up to this is how the world works.

They hated Clinton's policies too but never came close to this level of disrespect for the Office of the President. You can protest Obama all you like. You can say he's a liar or whatever. But there's a certain respect that the Office of the President is expected. The GOP demanded it for Bush, in fact way too much.
There's simply no excuse for their behavior. Joe Wilson should have been forced to resign in disgrace and then striped naked in the public square, tarred, feathered and run out of town on a rail. He interpreted a State of the Union with his heckling and he's supposed to be a representative. How dare he?
If any Democrat had cried "you lie" during one of Bush's States of the Union, eardrums across the country would split open with the 90 decibel shrieks of indignation from the right wing. The GOP would have demanded nothing less than an apology from every Congressional Democrat on the behavior of one of their colleagues and the resignation of the offender. No matter that W. Bush lied his ass off to get us to go to war in Iraq.
And even you have said the birthers are nuts. No president before now has ever been forced to respond to such crackpottery. Did Bush ever have to offer proof that 9/11 was not an inside job or respond to the truthers in any way? No. The truthers never got traction outside of Alec Jones' following and a few internet bloggers, and rightly so. Why did the birthers gain such a following in the GOP?
And basic patriotism alone should have compelled the GOP Congress to do more, no matter their dislike for the president. They've completely gummed up the works in Washington since 2010 at a time when we're at war in two places and trying to recover from the greatest economic meltdown since 1929. And then they shut down the government and nearly destroyed the economy in 2013. What possible policy could Obama have had to warrant such psychosis?
So bullshit. The GOP is racist and has gone crazy partly because a black man has invaded their White House. There. I said it.

Several candidate have been subject to birther movements....including John McCain. Birther movements are not unique to Obama or black candidates as you would have people believe. The fact that Obama got elected to POTUS is an inconsequential detail.

That's a dumbass assertion, even for you. You haven't proven racism, or proved that any racist conspiracy exists. The GOP doesn't like barack's policies, period. It has nothing to do with barack being black....and the voters are also finally fed up with the policies of barack and the democrats, as the mid-terms proved. You're getting as bad as the "Truthers" with your conspiracy shit.

No, it is how your party works. Democrats don't go out of their way to make your party look good. But they would never balk at voting for what they perceive as being in the country's best interest just because the republicans were supporting it. Only your party is that corrupt.
By the way, I don't disagree with DP's thesis. Their opposition to the democratic party gets expressed the way it does because they are racist sons of bitches. It just isn't the reason they'd rather blow the country up than see anything good happen with the democrats in the majority.

The voters also showed their opposition to the democratic party when they voted out the democrats in the State and National midterms. Are all those voters racist conspiracists too, or is it because they opposed the policies of barack obama and the democrats? You guys on the left are getting really nutty with your stupid ass conspiracy theories.
