Just saying 'there's loads of evidence for life after death' =/= life after death. I don't even think the term 'life after death' makes any sense as it's a contradiction.
Needless to say, as other members have said, nobody knows that happens when we die. It would seem, based on the available evidence, that nothing happens. But until we develop some way of testing and verifying what happens, saying 'there is loads of evidence for life after death' is a lie.

A lie or at best misguided. There is a lot of things considered "evidence" by people who are already suggestable to the supernatural, which are no more than trickery. If you want to believe something, you will find a way to believe it whether it's true or not.
There's no evidence that anything that has anything to do with the actual person survives. You rot down and you get recycled into nature. In that way, you are reborn after a fashion. But that's all.
Until anyone demonstrates otherwise, there's ansolutely no reason to think it even is a concept that makes sense, as wisely note above
This is where religion cleans up. Unfalsifiable claims. If you make a claim that cannot ever be proven false, you can repeat it forever. However, you have also in no way demonstrated that it's true. Religions are littered with such claims. Holding a belief just because other people can't demonstrate it to be false is a logical fallacy called the argument from ignorance. (Sorry cap'n! But this shits important to know.)
There are an infinite number of unfalsifiable claims. And they are all utterly useless. This can easily be seen because the direct contradiction of any such claim, is also unfalsifiable. So which one you "choose" to believe is entirely arbitrary. The only way to decide which beliefs make sense to hold, is ones that have some basis in reality and can be demonstrated.
Religion has gotten away with this faulty logic for far too long. It's an easy trap to fall into. Atheists are not trying to trick you. We're not the devil. We have nothing personally to gain from getting more atheists. There's no dogma or instructions. It's about freeing people

The fact that the treasures in Egyptian tombs remained there, despite claims that you could take it with you.
The fact that all that you are is in your brain, and if I messed with your head right now I can turn you into a totally different person. So I doubt you exist after it ceases to exist.

Never heard of "burden of proof", huh?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

there are countless cases of near death experiences, the story I linked was the most recent. The patient was clinically dead for 45 minutes yet her consciousness was somewhere interacting with "beings".
I suppose I don't need to tell you that the brain can't last for 45 minutes with no oxygen supply, you start to suffer brain damage after just 5 minutes, yet she has no signs of brain damage, a miracle in and of itself.

Then try explaining this...

Wow..I didn't think he'd go straight to something as asinine as "people saw beings in an NDE".

Quote: Graupera-Cassimiro then stopped breathing. Doctors tried for three hours to revive her but it was no use. She had no pulse for 45 minutes.
During that time, she said she felt herself floating along a tunnel.
"I remember seeing a spiritual being who I believe was my dad," Graupera-Cassimiro said. "I remember the light behind him and many other spiritual beings."
But suddenly a "force" stopped her, and she said she knew she couldn't go any further.
Her heart started beating again on its own even though doctors hadn't touched her in several minutes, Chakurda said.
I'm open to any evidence you have to debunk this account.

What about NDE's that don't involve the afterlife? Do you view all NDE's as equally sufficient evidence for their content? Would a Hindu's NDE be evidence for the Hindu afterlife?
Showing me a story about someone experiencing something has no bearing on what is actually true.
If someone has an NDE that involves Santa Claus, does that have any bearing whatsoever on whether or not Santa exists?

When there is an overwhelming amount of eye witness testimony, then people have to acknowledge that there just may be some truth to this phenomena.
Just ask Bill Cosby.....
