I'd like to move to part 3, but I need to know whether the forum God's are going to stretch out their almighty hands and fuck with my post for the simple fact that they don't have anything else to do on here besides watch me and find out ways they can limit my effectiveness, even if it is just by unjustifiably merging my threads just so they can hi-five each other and have themselves a few beers and a good night's sleep.

It's clear what he intended. He wanted to establish a historical Jesus in part one, which he failed to do. He then wanted to establish that the gospels were reliable sources in part two, which he failed to do, especially since this is impossible to do. Part three would have built on that to say that since the gospels are reliable accounts we should trust them when they talk of the resurrection.

As he has failed to provide compelling evidence of part one, and made no attempt at part two, I think that the matter should be closed out and this thread devoted to pictures of kittens.

I agree. As far I'm concerned, nothing has been established at all. I'm sure most atheists will say maybe there was some guy who wandered about back then who the tale is extremely loosely based on. But that's already a given, and a pointless one at that. Apart from that, just the usual dishonesty here.

My response was directly to the person who brought up Humprehys position in the first place; Minimalist.

Poisoning the well is something that is done pre-emptively, not after the fact. Since Minimalist brought up, and linked to, the Jesus Never Existed website first, then no accusation of poisoning the well is valid.

So then when you accused me of poisoning the well right after, it was your opinion that you were wrong to do so? Interesting.

Additionally, the best you could say is that you were both post- and pre-emptively poisoning the well, since the "anyone who disagrees with me just hates christianity and is not being intellectually honest," implication of your language both attempts to discredit Min, who spoke before you, and anyone who might happen to disagree with you on these points after the fact, which there's a pretty safe bet that those who disagreed with you before would continue to do, since you also didn't present any content that might change their minds, you just called them bigoted, irrational liars.

Don't pretend you weren't in the middle of a continuing conversation, there.
