edit title: Dammit I love meat!!
So from this Wednesday (which is Ash Wednesday) till April 2, I am going to have meat on friday. Smile

Cause I don’t want to celebrate Lent anymore.

Just wondering, if you were willing to give up something for a whole 46 days what would it be?

Give up something i enjoy for 46 days? Are ya kidding?

Silly fucking religious traditions, absolutely pointless and it doesn't achieve anything. If something is worth giving up it's worth giving up for good, not a silly 46 days. Why 46 days? It's not like 45 or 47 days would be any more/less useless.

Damn religious people and their useless traditions. Well 46 days seems pointless now. It would be 48 days if you would really want to be good all the way up to Easter, but I figured ending this charade could end on good friday. Angel Cloud

I always thought the idea of "giving up something for lent" to be absurd. I never adhered to them even when I did believe. I happily indulge in anything I want. Big Grin

Although tomorrow will be a fun day at work since it's Ash Wednesday and most of my coworkers will have ash crosses on their head.

What the hell's that!?

Time for a counter opinion I think! Tongue (even tho' I do hate traditions). I used to give up a weeks wages for charity.. (it's what we did in our church.. besides taking a week to go collecting for charity). It's good to think about others once in a while.

On Ash wednesday the people who attend church that day will come forward and the priest marks their forehead with a cross from ash.

I donate to 5 charities I selected based on my own criteria every month by automatic money transfer. I don't leave it up to some organization to spend my donations for me, I want to control where my money goes myself.
