Hello Kitty is NOT a Pokémon
For four generations, Geodude and its evolutions found a spot on my party. I may or may not switch it out for a Rhyhorn, but it's the go to rock/ground type that's so useful against early game normal, flying, bug, and poison types.
For starters, I typically picked Bulbasaur for its ease against gyms and status moves, Chikorita for its screens, Torchic because fire/fighting is pretty awesome, Chimchar because it's the better of the two fire types in gen 4, and Samurott just because. I'm a little disappointed that Samurott isn't part fighting, and that it has a physical movepool but has higher special attack than physical. I really do like Charizard, Swampert, and Empoleon. I haven't played Gen 6, because I moved from consoles to PC recently.

Two way tie between Totodile and Charizard. Totodile because it was the first Pokemon I ever had, its design is really nice and interesting, and its evolutions are cool as balls. Charizard because I've had a shiny Charizard in my roster for the longest time, evolved from a painstakingly bred Charmander just for that purpose. Black fire dragons are cool.

I love the zubat evolution line. I'm one of the few people who doesn't mind running into them all the time.

I always thought Vulpix was the most adorable one. Like, IRL I would want a Vulpix to snuggle, and also a lot of Burn Heals.
