It's apparent by what you said you have no idea what that verses means.

So what? They can discuss their religious beliefs if they want. Does your nursing home have a chapel in it? Many do, and many residents asks for religious services in the absence of having one, and in which case a chaplain (e.g. a priest) will come and lead services perhaps one or twice a week in one of the communal rooms.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

Well if that's the case why aren't more theists wanting to get punched in the face. i mean that's a easy 100 spirit points a day. They just have to get punched in the morning and one before they head home at night 150 to awkwardly get punched at work or at college.

As a gay person, I hate that whole conversation about "it's a lifestyle"

Yes, because I put up with your crap and everyone else's crap day in, day out, just so I can shag another bloke. Totally worth it.

Anyone who comes talkin bout some "it's a choice" or "it's a lifestyle" I immediately want to slap, because you clearly have about 3 brain cells if you think a life of being discriminated against is a choice.

Try to see the humor in it. What does "it's just a lifestyle" actually say about the ones blurting it out? That they are at least as attracted to their own gender as they are to the opposite gender. They're deep in the closet, since I for one wouldn't wake up one day and suddenly be attracted to men.

Oh yes I agree, I do think the most vocal homophobes are usually closet cases themselves.

It's just frustrating, because if people think "it's a choice" it gives them carte blanche to say what they like.

Like his Holiness Reverend Ted Haggard who can't even admit that there's such a thing as a gay person.

Like, why the fuck would you bring that up, especially to an elderly person in a nursing home who can barely eat their jello? Like, shut your damn mouth.

And THEN, this is what REALLY pissed me off, she started talking about her gay uncle saying, "I definitely don't agree with his lifestyle, but I love him anyway."

To avoid making a scene, I left it alone and didn't say anything.

Do you think I made the right decision? And if not, what could I have done or said?
Unless the receiver of the "information" seems distressed by it, I'd just leave it alone. I think American white people of that age still tend to be Christian, or at least used to it.

Well, every behavior is a choice if you believe in free will. It's also that guy's choice to spout off about his fairy tales in a public place-- but don't get too mad, because he probably can't help it-- he was born that way. i.e. a fucking idiot

Yep. The loudest ones are often the ones with hard drives full of "research" that they do when their wives are out baking cakes for their church groups. In their holy outrage, they don't even realize that they are masturbating. Tongue

I don't think she said anything wrong, it helps a lot of people to believe there is an after life, not for me or you but others, and saying she doesn't like her gay uncles life style is her right also, you can still love someone without agreeing with everything they do.
