But you've read the Bible and found it to be just fine and dandy?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Very good! It's a first step. Keep walking, you'll eventually outpace whichever one took its place. I know you can do it!

It's a bad idea to make decisions and then never review them now and again, in spite of new evidence, or because you refuse to view readily available evidence. That goes for everything.

The fun thing about reality is that it doesn't operate based on what humanity finds plausible or not.
It does what it does, and it's our responsibility to try and figure it out.

Some people don't find it 'plausible' that time travels at a different speed in orbit than it does on the surface. But it does, and reality isn't going to alter that if it makes them uncomfortable.

This is why fucking idiots like Jim Inhofe are repeatedly elected to high office. Willful ignorance is cancerous to our society.

C4RM is young and seems a bit more willing than most to entertain the idea of learning, so I feel there's hope for him yet Smile

For C4RM's sake I hope your optimism is proven correct. I'm not going to hold my breath as long as he's dismissing scientific arguments because they don't feel right.

But feeling is so much easier than learning.
