Awesome guys Big Grin

Wow it must be so easy making those arguments. No need to proof read, no need to gather evidence and sources, no need to know about logic or anything else, no need to worry about if one statement has anything to do with the next.

Why aren't we all doing that? Less stressful.

I thought of another case I could close, the morality one. Check this out, it came to me this morning.

Religious types tend to go on about a single, moral standard being the best, right? So how about this. I would wager that if you did a survery of atheists, and got their opinions of the various moralities of actions on a sliding scale, there wouldn't be that much variance. However, if you did the same thing with religious types, even ones all from the same religion, you'd find a vastly bigger spread. So in fact, the "atheist morals" are (if I'm correct) more consistent and represent a single set of rules better, although not exactly, than the religious ones.

Do you think my prediction would be correct?

Case in point from LDS:

believe it or not, the Book of Mormon forbids polygamy

subsequent Mormons nevertheless established polygamy, and claimed to be following the Old Testament practice

contrary to the Old Testament practices however, Mormons allowed men to marry sisters and mothers and daughters. Even Joseph Smith married sisters and at least one mother/daughter pair

to secure statehood for Utah, the church announced a revelation, direct from God prohibiting polygamy

church leaders continued performing polygamous marriages for several years following the revelation

Now you might appreciate better my outrage when the goddamn Mormons meddle in public policy regarding gay marriage.

But what about all the neat stuff in those cases?---- At least the stuff the airline hasn't broken.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
