I can relate. Beer on my keyboard messed with the q. I have to hammer it to make it work.

Quote:What other conclusion can you draw? There is no defense lawyer present at a grand jury only the prosecutor. So explain how only hearing one side of the case is NOT flawed, especially when it comes down to the prosecutor bringing a case against one of it's own.

This was explained in a different thread. An indictment case just decides whether something goes to trial or not. It doesn't mean the person is guilty or innocent, so there's no reason for a defense just yet.

Now having someone prosecute a person they work closely against it wrong. It would be better to take the officer(s) to a different place where the prosecutor doesn't know them, and won't suffer for putting the cop behind bars. Prosecutors rely on the police force, but some prosecutor in Montgomery, Alabama wouldn't know or care about a cop from Birmingham. Or from farther away like Atlanta, Georgia.

If this is true I hope so, there's no place in Christianity for such behavior.

I gave you kudos because I appreciate the sentiment. I think you're wrong, but I do appreciate the sentiment.

I don't understand, why do you think I'm wrong, I do believe what I said, I do not post things I do not believe.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Forget Furgeson, what about Eric Garner who was put in an illegal chokehold and killed by the police? The autopsy report indicated that he died from being choked, also Indisputable video evidence, yet no grand jury indictment.

Quote:The grand jury plays an important role in the criminal process, but not one that involves a finding of guilt or punishment of a party. Instead, a prosecutor will work with a grand jury to decide whether to bring criminal charges or an indictment against a potential defendant -- usually reserved for serious felonies.
Quote: There is no judge present and frequently there are no lawyers except for the prosecutor. The prosecutor will explain the law to the jury and work with them to gather evidence and hear testimony.
Quote:Grand juries do not need a unanimous decision from all members to indict, but it does need a supermajority of 2/3 or 3/4 agreement for an indictment (depending on the jurisdiction). Even though a grand jury may not choose to indict, a prosecutor may still bring the defendant to trial if she thinks she has a strong enough case.

I wasn't aiming that comment at you directly, and I should have made that clear; my apologies.

My point was that those who adduced Wilson's innocence in the Ferguson case should now, by the same logic, adduce the church's liability in this case. After all, a grand jury has found enough evidence to move forward with a prosecution.

Of course you do, I wasn't implying that I doubt your sincerity. I just disagree with you. I think there is plenty of room in Christianity for this type of behavior.

Jesus didn't say anything about casting out demons?
