I think they put the trinity in as a final test. If we can get them to believe this, they'll believe anything.

I ran for God once, as a Libertarian from the Santa Monica district. I fell short by a few votes, but I was able to know what my opponents were thinking, because we were all candidates for Godhood.
I was almost God - Santa Monica (L). Man, I even had my new resume entry written.

It really does. We're supposed to accept the idea that this god is the creator of all things, that he knows all and can do anything he wills done, but any time that you ask questions regarding the consequences of such a claim, our questions are not answered. We are, ourselves, asked questions designed to lower the expectations we have about a being whose powers and knowledge are supposed to be boundless and subject to no restraints. We are blamed for flaws in human nature, instead of the programmer of that nature.
If you have to nerf your omni-perfect god every single time someone asks you to make sense of his behavior, you should really start asking yourself why it's necessary.
