Finally, assuming that only your religion provides your morals is both a gross misunderstanding of normal human psychology, and interesting insight into your own; because your clear implication is that without your fraudulent belief in a god, you would be either amoral or immoral. I did not think that you were part of the Evangelical Alliance, so why defend them?

You can't generalize atheists. We don't all subscribe to anything except the rejection of a single claim. We don't hold a book up as holy while saying we are nothing to do with others who do the same, and who are simply doing what that book says.

The continued attempt to try and strawman atheists smacks of either pure ignorance or utter desperation of religion. We are the future. All you have to do to become an atheist is grow up. Eventually we won't have to identify even as an atheist because no one being taken seriously will be making childish God claims any more.

Alright, we'll start here: statistically, there are less atheists in prison than befits the general population, whereas there are more religious in prison than the same, for a lot of (christian) denominations of the same.

I guess the point is, reputation isn't everything. Reputation can be manipulated by outside sources like, say, the desperate and hateful screeds of the religious fundamentalists as they slowly lose the power they once had. Reputation, and the factual case, are two very different things.

It's exceedingly interesting to me that you opted for the shallowest, most possibly dishonest route, of the two.

You know, I'd really had hope that you might have opened your mind and learned a little about the atheist position, based on a few of the latest threads I'd read your contributions to, I really had. It pleased me, to perhaps see some common understanding emerging.

So it's actually rather disappointing to see you lapsing back into your old "atheism is nihilism!" routine, after being specifically informed as to how it is not. Given that you now know, for certain, what actual atheists think on this point, and have responded to them so we know you read the posts, we really have no other alternative but to deem this line of yours a deliberate lie.

As to my putative bitterness... no. I'm actually happier than I've ever been right now, and I was never particularly unhappy or discontent to begin with. I've taken my life into my own hands since becoming an out atheist, and it's improved immensely; yet another point on which your factual error is simple to point out.

And we're libertines? No: I have numerous moral stances and strictures on my life, that I have placed there personally upon serious consideration of my position in the universe and the consequences of my action on myself and others. I would suggest that those are far more valuable and worthy than the simple bended knee by which you receive the arcane ancient deepities of your argument-from-authority god.
