Religion is just a way to make tax free money off the hard working people who are just not that bright enough yet to see it. Though i digress there is some good churches out there who use the money to help those in need i like those churches.

You have no idea of what it means to be self realized, its beyond your thinking, its beyond your concept of being an atheist.

Yeah religion is bad but some people do good is all i'm trying to really get across. There is some good churches that help the others well the majority do not do it out of selfishness. I mean i could just put them all into the they are terrible category but i couldn't. If a church and people helped those who need it and not ask anything out of it and or being a member they are fine. But when they do and are looking for people to join them and be born again i take issue with that.

What???! Where did you get that impression?

I agree that religion is a driving force for science, in the way that cancer is a driving force for medical research.

Exactly! Many past scientists and mathematicians, actually made great breakthroughs in science and ended up disproving god while trying to prove god. Religion is what showed us how ignorant and gullible we truly are.... Cancer is the perfect analogy to religion.

Maybe, I wouldn't call that modern science though...

Yes I realize that there is a lot of good in religion, and yes I also don't like religion being nice to people just to manipulate them to join their fold.

RE: My views on religion
there is the BUSINESS of religion then there is ACTUAL religion.
Two completely different things. One has been competing to exploit the other while the other has been putting its head down, shaking it slightly side to side, and sighing lol

in order to understand ACTUAL religion you have to:
1. LEARN HOW TO READ OLD ENGLISH.
2. Read everything that is an ACTUAL religious text not someone's interpretation of it....
3. Get the METAPHORS and ANALOGIES that you read. (it is written is ESOTERIC language so that even the very SIMPLE minded as well as the very COMPLEX minded can understand)
4. Laugh at know knowing the GREATEST MYSTERY OF LIFE and go about telling people with EXTREME confidence that MOST CERTAINLY God is REAL LOL And VERY VERY NEAR HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHHA!

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
