Snopes.com verifies that the pope has issued a statement saying nonbelief is ok, along with several other shockers. I found it on FaceBook. Can anybody else find it and cut and paste it here?

Pope's new statement

Its nothing special considering the pope always pushed for science because he knows.
that science unlike blind faith stand a better chance than a faerie tale.

I know! Gotta love him for it.
He is a bit of a heretic if he says just being good can still get you into heaven, but that just makes him more progressive and popular with most of the world. And probably some more liberal christians, too.

It's a pain in the butt to do this with only a smartphone and someone might have already posted the quote by the time I get this done so it may end up bein redundant but here goes:
Quote: "It is not necessary to believe in God to be a good person. In a way the traditional notion of God is outdated. One can be spiritual but not religious. It is not necessary to go to church or give money, nature can be a church. Some of the best people in history did not believe in God while some of the worst deeds were done in His name". (All caps his) This seems to me to be a somewhat startling position statement by the head of a body that is hardly a bastion of liberal thinking. Most of us here hope for the evolution in man's thinking, away from beliefs in mythical gods. Does it seem to anyone other than me that this is a surprising step in that direction?
He probably slips in "as long as they eventually become christian" somewhere. That's the usual disclaimer.
I'd be interested if it's not the case! Feel free to send me a private message.

I heard the the pope supposedly said something like "Dogs can go to heaven". I'm sure cats are feeling left out.
I reject your reality and substitute my own!
