Wait. I am an atheist and a feminist. I am so confused.

Fat pride. the myth that women have it harder in life than men. When you see a man getting punched by a woman, people will laugh and cheer. If a woman jokes about beating the crap out of a man, people say "you go girl!" When a men does it? He's branded an awful hate monger. Women claim getting harassed online is an issue with being a woman, when literally everyone online gets harassed and men get death threats, bullied to shit. Those are just the sexist biases that feminism has towards men. They will often try to find sexism anywhere they can in culture, like in video games and persecute a group of people who are generally benign, for being sexist and misogynist, like people like Anita Sarkeesian. People who make no efforts to contribute any real positive change to society, while making relationships between both genders worse. Women in general live longer, have lower rates of suicide, as well as higher rates of graduation. 

Believe me, I am a liberal, but I feel incredibly disenfranchised by the feminist movement. It makes me ashamed. I am an egalitarian.

Look, I don't believe I have much credibility to you, seeing as you completely disagree with me on feminism to begin with. So I'll just wing it. Fat pride is a movement that says thin models are an oppressive form of beauty, which is propagated by the "patriarchy" aka male dominated society. So in turn, people have turned to saying that fat is beautiful, resulting in many a ugly picture of horribly unattractive, obese women taking selfies of themselves saying things like "healthy at any size". So if you don't mind me being very blunt, it's some people who are very sad that society doesn't find them attractive. So instead of trying to work out and make themselves thinner, they would rather say that the beauty industry is the problem, try to get fashion industries to have extra large female models. It also perpetuates the misnomer that being fat is perfectly healthy, when what these people actually have is a medical condition. I hope that explains it well.

From my experience, most fat people are pretty self-aware and are reminded of it many times. It's not that fat is good or healthy, but the people who think everybody should be fat and that everyone on a diet is being oppressive are a minority, really

What is feminism?

I'm a "man-hating feminist", I suppose, by your definitions. I recognize the immeasurable privileges I hold in this society by being a white male. I recognize the Patriarchy that has made our culture the way it is. Patriarchal values have destroyed countless lives and continue to do so, and they affect us in subtle ways in almost every exchange we have in this society. 

Yes, men have to deal with some things that are difficult, even the occasional double standards, but the worst we will ever go through pales in comparison to every day of the life of women in our supposedly-enlightened society.

While nobody questions that there are feminist extremists who take the concept too far, it's insane to try to equate the far fringe with the common views of the overall movement. It's why I am a male and am proud to call myself a feminist. The idea that trying to root out wrongs that have been perpetrated against women for so long that most men never even notice it's happening or think there's anything wrong with how we are socialized to treat women, for trying to ensure that the business world does not discriminate against women just because it has been a "boys club" for centuries, for trying to attack our "rape culture" in which men feel entitled to the bodies of women they like, and for trying to stem the overwhelming tide of domestic abuse and intimidation that marks the lives of women everywhere, equals "oppression" or hatred of men is beyond ludicrous.

The data are clear: if the nation does not take legal action to protect women from discrimination, they will be routinely discriminated against, based on a long social tradition that has oppressed and used them throughout most of our culture's history.

Being skeptics, we are free to question any or all aspects of feminism... but when you start whining about oh poor men we're so oppressed, you lose me. It simply is not borne out by any significant studies of the subject, and a few anecdotes here and there do not change the overwhelmingly one-sided data that shows we have a long way to go before we have a society in which I would feel proud to tell my daughter (I don't know yet, but have hope my baby due in late January is female) she will be growing up. Until then I fight to fix it. And I tell guys who want to whine about feminism and speak about egalitarianism that feminism is egalitarianism. There's no difference, except in the minds of a few radical proponents of matriarchy (something I doubt strongly would be any better than what it purports to replace), between feminism and egalitarianism... but the fact that you think there is only shows that the feminists' fight is not even close to being completed.

Actually that's not the definition of feminism at all, you are consistently strawmanning and misrepresenting what feminism actually is. Then you're going further than that and making bigoted and ignorant comments and flinging insults when people don't like it, and yet you have the gall to think it at all reasonable or realistic to then demand that others not respond in kind.

I went into the trouble to responding to you as you wished, with a large post and then you haven't bothered even responding to me in return.

So to quote just one small part of my much larger post to you:

I think the real reason why people are pissed off with you is because you started by grossly misrepresenting what feminism actually is at its core and then you didn't like it when people called you out on that, and then you didn't like it even more when people didn't like you insulting them and being a rude asshole. The fact you continued to sling insults but remained shocked when others did the same back is the real double standard here.

I will gladly engage in a civil discussion about feminism with anyone I believe capable of having an intelligent conversation. There are things about feminism that I am all for. There are things I hate. There are people whose behavior I find so repulsive that I find myself doubting whether I want to stain myself with the label of feminism. I'm all for discussing it. I learn something new every time the discussion comes up (real ones not stupid ones). I find myself shifting back and forth with my opinion.

And then there are people that are so stupid, so completely incapable of intelligent conversation that they're forced to resort to such drastic hyperboles to make their point that you're wondering if it's really a hyperbole at all or if it's fallen over into the realm of blatant lie. And then I have to ask myself, is this person so stupid or are they just trying to get people riled up. In the end I always decide it doesn't matter and I just light heartedly mock them for my own entertainment.

If people are concerned about "black and white" blanket statements, they shouldn't make such generalised statements of their own.

There are extreme feminists who want all men castrated, and there are those who just want complete equality of the sexes.  And, of course, there are those who fluctuate between two points or come up with their own.

Don't confuse the two.

Also I would argue that seen as the original feminist movement was for equal rights of women and wasn't anti-men at all, the feminists who think men should all be castrated are not only being bigoted and giving real feminists a bad name, but they're completely distorting the actual definition of feminism. Thus when people attack these "extremists feminists" they're not actually attacking feminists at all they're attacked a bigoted group of people who wish to be anti-men under the name of "feminism", and whilst doing so these anti-feminists are painting true feminists with the same brush as the bigoted "extreme feminist" group and are being completely hypocritical by being as bigoted as the "feminists" who are anti-men who they attack.

If you're attacking "feminism" DFDM, it helps to actually get the definition right and not paint everyone with the same brush. When you paint a whole group of people with the same brush that is one of the reasons people are calling you out on your bigotry. That, and all the other bigoted dick-bend statements you have been making.

Now, I may seem to be goading you here now DFDM, but really I'd just like to get your attention and reiterate that you didn't like it when I didn't respond to one of your posts immediately - which I was going to respond to anyway - that didn't even address me especially or quote me. I go into the effort to write a big post in response to you - fuck knows why - and then when you respond to the thread you don't respond to my response. More hypocritical behavior huh?
