Here is all you need to know about ALL RELIGIONS, not just Catholics. They are all nothing more than gap filling placebos and only provide group survival in evolution. None of them are required for evolution to occur. Old dead religions get replaced with new ones and life goes on. No religion was around during our early existence and if we don't kill ourselves off with pollution or a nuclear war, we can expect to see the current ones change or die out. Eventually our species will go extinct and our artificial constructs we call religions will die with us.

Now ALL religions are important to study for merely historical reasons and are helpful in debunking religion and or managing differences. But there is nothing in evolution that makes any religion a requirement anymore than a cockroach needs a god or a religion to make offspring.

Religion is merely a placebo, that humans end up creating power structures and social pecking orders. But that does not make the god real or the religion a requirement for life to continue.

Indeed. Catholics believe in Christ, not "jesus" - it's a title. Far be it from me to suggest that there aren't derivative nutballs in the world -hey, look at all the shit the catholic church spawned..after all.....but if our boy here believes in jesus, and not christ.....

He's a jesusist (feel free to invent your own term) not a christian, and not a catholic. I think lots of believers of all sorts of religions do not understand the feeling of relief when the light bulb goes off and they finally realize it is all crap. It is a very liberating feeling for former believers.

Most humans will never know that feeling, but it certainly is our hope more do.

Perhaps so. I'm not saying that their sentiments are heartfelt. I am saying that nothing that they say, or not say, could placate their critics, yourself included.

Could you link me to an article about those political leaders endorsing terrorism? I'd be interested in reading what was said, but I couldn't find anything useful, perhaps as a result of my search terms. Anyway, any help you could give would be appreciated.

I know, it's like I can feel the mental anguish through the posts, the desperation to try and argue black is white, to force the circle through the square hole and to not use any critical thinking that would be applied to every part of life except religion. It makes me so happy each time I read of someone finally seeing the light, I kind of feel the relief on their behalf as they no longer have to keep that garbled mess twisted up in their brain.

Ah well. It makes me so sad the unecessary mental torture people are inflicting on themselves.
