You didn't get any theistic replies? Darn it!!
This is easy, you have one soul and one voice of faiiiith, the other voice of logic is the voice of the devil latching on to your brain. And you can get rid of him quite easily, just donate 99.99$ to my paypal and receive the light and my certificate as proof of your illogical faith.

If personality = soul, then the original personality is intact with a secondary personality emergent. My mum with increased dementia suddenly declared theism amusingly. This wasn't her 'personality' or reasoning self though, so I would say that the personality remained with the previously controlling brain.

If Solomon can split a baby.......how much easier must it be for god to split a soul? None of that inconvenient viscera to deal with (nevermind how much fun god might have -mit- viscera splitting elsewhere).
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I have a similar issue - I have schizotypal personality disorder (not at all like schizophrenia). One of the main characteristics is 'magical thinking' - Quote:Odd beliefs or magical thinking that influences behavior and is inconsistent with subcultural norms (e.g., superstitiousness, belief in clairvoyance, telepathy, or “sixth sense”; in children and adolescents, bizarre fantasies or preoccupations)
There was a point in my twenties when I was seriously abusing psychedelics, and was utterly convinced that ultraterrestrials were teaching me to alter probabilities in order to influence human destiny (a la John Lilly's ECCO). I got over it, but I did experience some very odd things then. Some of my friends, who were not into drugs, flat believed me. That was decades ago, I got over it.
But by nature I'm deeply rational. Probably more so than is healthy. I did three years of a hard science phd before dropping out and had no problems with it. Love science. However, I also understand that rationality can be a crutch. I don't have explanations for everything - no one does. Things I can't explain happen all the time. Trying to rationalize them in order to make yourself more comfortable is just delusional. That particular realization can to me in a vision - the Mayan god Dreaming Jaguar (whom I don't at all believe in) explained it to me.
My best advice comes from Lewis Carroll, "I try to believe two impossible things each day before breakfast". Cognitive dissonance is like a fine wine for a complex mind. Appreciate it.

It is, admittedly, a delicious experience when you realize that you're experiencing it (which adds yet another wrinkle). A personal favorite of mine, truth be told.

I'm looking into quantum mechanics properly for the first time, and I feel a bit of dissidence coming on. I have to pretend like the stuff I'm reading doesn't sound absolutely bonkers.
