The survey? Oh yeah, they asked me and my mates :p
Sure, I wouldn't take the numbers to be hugely accurate but even the general trend is surprising.
Does anyone have what they would consider to be a better study on similar questions?

Not on morality, but 5 years ago this was done: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/religion...n-God.html
2/3 of teenagers in the UK don't believe in a God.

I mean, having grown up in the UK, I'd say probably not. If you go up to any random 18-24 year old British person in the street and ask "do you go to church regularly?" I would bet only a vanishingly small amount would actually say "yes". I think the UK is "Christian" in name only these days. In fact I think it sounds weird when I hear British accents having heated debates about religion like Americans do.
It's only really with minority religions in the UK (especially Catholicism, Islam and Judaism) that I've seen any kind of real commitment too. The Protestant Church seems dead.
It definitely isn't dead, I'm about to marry into a family with one-half being happy clapping, God bothering protestants.
They're very much in a minority in the major towns and cities, but get yourself out to the country and they're still about.
I think the age and history of a country matters a lot here, we've had hundreds of years of religious bollocks. From Paganism, to the Romans bringing stories of JC, the reformation, wars in Scotland and Ireland......it has taken a long old time, but religion just seems to have dwindled into insignificance for most.
The hope is the same happens elsewhere.

Nice, thanks. That's a lot of clued up teenagers. If atheists have no morality, then England should be a blood bath right about now.
I feel the urge to walk into a church and start handing out facts. Take out the churches one by one. Debate them into the ground. Then destroy them. Break all the windows. Plant explosives... Get rid of them forEVER... And...*foams at the mouth*

Oh, there's plenty of opportunities to do just that too. Not sure if this happens elsewhere, but the CofE churches here run a thing called the Alpha Course, 13 weeks, one night a week where anybody can go into a church and debate the existence of God.
They will have 2 or 3 trained Christians who are there to help "guide" you down the right path and basically recruit people into their wonderful church.
I turned up to the first 6 or so weeks about 10 years ago at the invite of a friend, very proud to report that one of the Christians trying to convert us is now agnostic.

Oh really? I've not heard of that. Wow that sounds like fun. And congrats on saving one of them
I wonder if that happens near me? I'm in Kent.

It's still going and nationwide I think, I still see some of the posters on the London buses sometimes, always makes me chuckle.

Cool, thanks. Maybe I should give that a go. It depends whether they are at all interested in honest debate, of course. I'll make cards representing each logical fallacy I'm likely to face and just hold them up while they talk :p

Getting pretty Christian girls to intice you into not touching your dick for Jesus.
