Call me a pessimistic prick, but there's no such thing as good for the sake of good. It's a cute idea, but no. Most of the time when people do something good they do it because it makes them feel better about themselves. Everyone expects something in return, like "thank you".

Well, you have to understand, actually learning what evolutionary biology says about morality would be... boring and unhelpful.

If you actually follow a set of "divine rules" about morality, you are amoral. You are without morality. You are making no decisions at all about what is "good" or "bad". However, short of the ultra extreme maniacs, no one does this. They say they do, but they don't. They follow their own morals, just like atheists. Sometimes they may allow their morals to be warped however by the commands and do some things they think are wrong because the book says it's right.
