This would only work if it was organised properly, but what you do is get all the protesters to line one of the streets - no placards, no chanting etc - then everyone turns their back on him and keeps silent as he goes past. You'll be amazed what a powerful message that sends. Especially for the media.

No it wont magically end religion, but it needs to happen every time some religious moron of any religion suggests violence or taboos to keep the peace.
Will he be required to give his fingerprints at the airport?
