One of the reasons why science works so well and many atheists have a special affinity for it is precisely because of the scientific method and the beautiful and brutal process of peer review.
What that means is that if some guy says something, there's a litany of other people (some of whom may have a vested interest in you being wrong) who will test, re-test, and try their best to disprove your theory before it can go anywhere near being accepted.

So what I'm trying to say is that yes, listening to experts is important, but in many cases, it can rarely be definative.

There is one sort of evidence that is used in court that is wrong in 60% of cases.
That evidence is eyewitness evidence.
This is error on a level that is more than random chance.
The cause is that peoples perceptions are easily led astray and incorrect memories created, peoples prejudices come into play as well.

No but it is perfectly logical to say that personal experiences are inconclusive and cannot be used as an argument for the thing that was experienced. To do this would allow any personal experiences, no matter how contradictory, to be indicative of the truth - Any such standard that allows contradictory conclusions is insufficient in determining the truth.

No but 200 people giving eye-witness reports of seeing something in the sky, will be based off of their own perspective and different to differing degrees, They all saw something. It's indicative of something. Like seeing the voids in space is indicative of black holes.
