Really, really, really stupid. I mean talking about a generic creator is an interesting philosophical exchange. But talking about frigging magic story books is not a debate at all. It's talking to overgrown children who refuse to go out into the real world.

I see atheism very strongly as a metaphor for "growing up".

And you see wrong. Whatever inspiration you have is your own, not the lack of belief in gods.

For someone who breaks out of religion. Obviously not for someone whose never been a believer, the metaphor doesn't work.

So I phrased it badly. The transition from theism to atheism is analogous to growing up.

I was born grown up of course. Yeah.

You're right, my metaphor needed some work. Thank for shaping it up before I go and put it on my blog and look stupid.

I'm firmly against adding bogus extra stuff onto atheism, I plan to add that to my site too.

The God question makes about as much sense.

For example:
"Jesus rose from a dead" is a claim. It can be true or false. It's just more likely to be false than true.

"Colorless green ideas sleep furiously" is not a claim. It can't not be true or false. It is literally nonsense.
