RE: Thoughts on a multiverse/consciousness

This reminds me strongly of that infinite light speed model Statler tried to advertise. There he needs to claim that it aint so that these moments in time exist in order to get a formally young universe. Anyways.

A very weak connection. The B theory of time states all of time already exist like all of space already exist. So person A can contiunously jump into a frame where person B never dies. Hence, person B lives "forever".
Imagine the original poster of this thread dancing. If all of time exists, the original poster will be dancing for as long as all of time exists. He doesn't need a multiverse to do this dance forever. He only needs a single universe that operates consistent with B theory of time.

Even though Michele Besso was dead, Albert Einstein was telling his widow that Michele wasn't really gone.....that physics leads us to believe that Michele's existence is eternal.

I'm not arguing about the physics involved. The physics your describing in not related to what the OP meant. Your playing semantics with his choice of words. He was asking if it is possible to live forever in his own frame. So far, science doesn't says no.

Yes i like that idea of a multiverse but what is going to bother me the most is will i even be another sentient being like a human.
But the other thing is, we would not and i mean really not want to met our counterparts because they would look like us even speak like us
but really you wouldn't even know what he or she would do if seeing you.

Of B theory of time is correct, we are all living forever in our own frame, provided you make the assumption that past and future you is still you and not some other separate and distinct consciousness.

What? That sounds absurd, how does this follow?

You took an action. You wrote that post above. There is always a frame of reference where that action is in the present and you are consciously committing it. If B theory of time is correct, there is always a now in which you exist and you are conscious of your own existence.....therefore you never cease to be....your consciousness is eternal.

I don't see how you live forever. You're gonna die out after 150 years or something in every incarnation right? And you're gonna be all different. Like in Stargate, they get Sam Carter from a parallel dimension and she's identical except longer hair. I think that's how it works.

Can you perceive these other consciousnesses?
