Here's one in limerick form:
My grandfather fills me with dread
When he sits on the end of my bed.
It's not that he creaks,
Or gibbers and squeaks,
But for the last fifteen years he's been dead.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

I like this one from the OP link:
I begin tucking him into bed and he tells me, “Daddy check for monsters under my bed.” I look underneath for his amusement and see him, another him, under the bed, staring back at me quivering and whispering, “Daddy there’s somebody on my bed.”

Bethany was a friendly girl, with a cadre of ex-lovers. So many, in fact, that freezer space was becoming a problem.

Twenty kilometers I drove that overgrown old logging road into the depth of wild forest with my new wife, to show her that in Canada solitude and beauty are forever married. In morning, we awoke to the first filtering light of the sun, chilled and hungry, and I resolved to make a campfire. . . but rather than my axe I found only footprints, which circled our tent several times before heading off into the marsh.
Not very good prose, but this actually happened.

Alistair was a childless man who lived happily in a house with no doors. His happiness ended the night he heard the door creak and the children giggle.

He enjoyed watching the bouncing line of his heart monitor, hearing the steady beep-beep-beep tracking the muscle that pumped his blood, and then he noticed it slowing... slowing... slowing... until the line wasn't moving anymore and the beeps were a steady monotone. He looked toward the nurses's station; no one was coming to help him.

After waking in the middle of the night to an odd feeling, I roused my wife and asked, "Did you remember to lock the door?" From the darkness of the hallway, a voice replied, "No, she didn't."
