Depends how you define "moderate". They're regular working guys, not fighters in Middle East. I can't tell for sure what they do outside of work, but I'm betting they do the same things as everyone else. Except - more praying and less eating bacon. And some of them have more than one wife, although not necessarily in the same country.

I guess I'm curious to see how they would define themselves. I was always so shocked to hear about the beliefs of My friend's family. They were always so nice to me. We would hang out just like normal people. She would dress me in hijab just for fun sometimes but never because her family would treat me any differently when I wasn't dressed that way. I guess they secretly considered me a whore and a lot of other terrible things but they were always really nice to me.

A socially conservative Muslim who doesn't kill other people for Allah is considered a moderate. He can think women who don't wear hijab are whores, that abortion is evil, homosexuality is wrong and jews are not to be trusted. Still a moderate

Basically, it pokes fun at people who claim that their religion is the fastest growing and yet have a seemingly never ending list of people who aren't what they would call "true believers". The reason some people have a seemingly never list of people who they don't consider to be "true believers" is because of their reluctance to address certain issues with their holy book. They are in denial. They are what I call "Salad Bar Believers". They pick out the things which they like and try to ignore the things they don't.
