At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Historically speaking, extinction seems to be the way of life, why buck the system? Burn more coal! Dump radioactive waste in the ocean! Develop more and more genetic variations of diseases that we can use for biological warfare! It's only natural...
Because we have the capacity and, generally, the desire not to invite extinction. I refuse to believe that you are this obtuse.

As a whole, we do not care enough about preserving our way of life for the future. Most people are prone to state, Oh, that's a problem for future generations, not realizing that it is basically already too late right now and that expecting future generations to take of it does not solve a damn thing.

It's peoples ignorance is what is holding us back and what is going to be the downfall of our species. Religion has always been that flaw it plays out our innocence and in time i mean look you have people denying global warming. Species are dying because of us hell even look at now we are having droughts in California. When Hawking said we need to leave earth he wasn't joking around sooner or later more than likely sooner earth is going to be a lost cause because we would have damaged too much.

Leave and go where? No matter where we think we might go, we have more food, air and temperate weather here than anywhere else that we know of now. That does not even address, get there how?
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.
-- Homer Simpson God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion. -- Superintendent Chalmers Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things. -- Ned Flanders Once something's been approved by the government, it's no longer immoral. -- The Rev Lovejoy
Wherever it is, it's a hell of a walk.
