Violence is the Natural conclusion of Religion.

I think it was Deist Paladin who said something I wholeheartedly agree with. Two rabid dogs, one in a cage and one running free unchecked. It's only the shackles of society and law holding certain brands of christianity back. And it's not just the Westboros. Listen to the sermon of these raving pastors that keep cropping up every now and then. From many denominations. If they were free to do what they want, it would be open season for hunting gays and doctors who practice abortions. They're lusting for their christian version of Sharia law.

Though to be fair, I've encountered quite a few anti-theists, even on this board, who would be pleased at nothing short of an authoritarian rule enforcing the prohibition of any religious expression or gathering. One could call that the anti-theistic version of communist dictatorship... but then again those tended to be rather anti-religious to begin with.

Buddhism is not "strictly pacifist" by a long shot.

Fair, but I felt somebody would bring them up to derail the conversation. I don't personally believe in pacifism as a thing that truly exists. Some may strive for it, but the human element will get in the way.

Christians Reconstructionism frightens me. They are a Calvinist movement that want to make the United States a theocracy that would include bringing back stoning and slavery. Seriously, look them up.

I think that extremists of any kind are potentially dangerous.

Well bugger me with a soup ladle.

It's my opinion most christians would be screaming for mercy if they got the theocracy they think they want. They have no idea how much secular, humane government does for them I suppose because they are too busy crediting everything to God.

Yeah, but they're not many and far from being organised or attracting a followership. And the communist regimes weren't outright anti theist. With the still existing exemption of North Korea and the Pol Pot regime, they allowed religion to be practised. They just made it more difficult for them to gather.

I don't disagree. While I think religion should "Go-away" I don't care what adults do by themselves and with their own time. Freedom however has limits. Unchecked freedom for one person often equals oppression of some sort for another.

Think of how grand things would be if you were a male member of the elite "enforcing/ruling class".

That is just paranoia speaking. You really think that they would ever become a majority? Their voice would be amongst hundreds of other Christian groups, from fascist white christian groups, fascist black christian groups etc. America is too modern to regress.
