I think that extremists of any kind are potentially dangerous.

That is just paranoia speaking. You really think that they would ever become a majority? Their voice would be amongst hundreds of other Christian groups, from fascist white christian groups, fascist black christian groups etc. America is too modern to regress.

I sincerely doubt they would become a majority in america. But that isn't the point. Extreme religion has become the majority in other countries. The point is that with the freedom to go unchecked, christianity is just as bad.
I reject your reality and substitute my own!

I said nothing about them getting power. They are an example of a frightening extremist Christian group.. Christianity can be as bad as any other extremist group. That was why I mentioned them

Extreme religion has become the majority, I agree with you, but as far as I'm concerned, nothing has ever changed since religion was created. We know Christianity is bad, no-one is disputing that, but others claim that people have only focussed on Islam ever since what happened 09/11. Whilst it is true (which shows complete ignorance from the point of view of those in the west) Islam has always been violent, and the freedom afforded to the people is almost the same sort of freedom that Kim Jong-Un affords his people, in fact, North Korea is just a political version of Islamic Countries. Secondly, we cannot blame the areas where they live either, this is bollocks, since Israel finds itself in the middle east and is thriving, without resorting to stone age, neandarthalic barbarism. Violence will never ever leave the Abrahamic faiths.

Don Baker on the Atheist Experience sure hasn't forgotten about christianity Smile

Nor have I! I've been kicking it in the balls for months now.

It's just that Islam is the most dangerous right now and so needs most attention to get under control if possible. But we need to keep an eye on all the different religions, in a whack-a-mole style.

Christianity should never be given a break and neither should Islam. They are both poison.

Agreed, they are about as bad as it gets. If I had to write a blood and guts hate/slaughter manual, I'd be hard pressed to improve on what they have already.

I guess it is safe to say that religion is (morally, what they claim to be), as safe as a condom is to a rapist. Gotcha.

Fair, but I felt somebody would bring them up to derail the conversation. I don't personally believe in pacifism as a thing that truly exists. Some may strive for it, but the human element will get in the way.

I don't know. Quakers seem pretty pacifist, as do Bahais. I don't doubt that even some of those followers might whoop some ass if they had enough motivation.

Aren't Amish pretty pacifist too? Outside their passive aggressiveness when you try to leave their group, that is.
