Who would you pick to lead your nation
|
The thing with 3 is that it isn't an accurate representation of Hitler. Other important details are omitted.
Important details are omitted in all.
I'd pick none, even before knowing about their identities. Besides, it's the public servants that run the country, not the top figurehead.
For f***'s sake - you don't pick leaders because of their life-stories and personal quirks. You pick them on the basis of their policies. This is the major flaw with democracy - most people treat politics like another spectator sport, where they basically choose someone at random, or based on some personal inclination towards their personality or looks and then they expect that person to "be good" once they're in power.
This is why we can't have nice things...

Nutter nailed it. We expect our leaders to be either paragons of wisdom and virtue or 'just plain folks'; there doesn't seem to be a middle ground.
Once, just once, I'd like to hear a candidate say something like, 'I'm honest in my policies - the campaign on which I run is also the campaign on which I'll govern. But make no mistake - I'm going to steal from you. Not a lot, of course, and not all the time. But I will steal enough to line my pockets and the pockets of my friends. That being said, I will also make sure that there's enough left in the kitty to pay the teachers, fix the roads, and have the garbage collected.' That's someone I could vote for without ruining my sleep. Boru

Well there went the novelty of this game!
You can find more novelties at Spencer's ... or your local adult emporium.
I'd rather have a representative than a leader. Politicians should be the mouthpieces of the people. Not leaders doing what they feel is best and right.
I figured these might be certain details about historical people, but none of those are important. Policies are important. What have they stood for? Does what they talk about compare well with their actions once they have power?

I think politicians should exert leadership when needed, but be sensitive enough to bow to the demands of the citizenry, so long as those demands are inside the framework of the most rights for the most citizens, and in America, within the Constitution.
