Dodged a Bullet Yesterday

RE: Dodged a Bullet Yesterday
Good luck to you and your Golden.
They are among the most deserving beings extant because they are so nice.
Mine was a used seeing eye dog named Teddy. He inherited us when he got too
old to guide his previous people. Such fond memories of so sweet tempered a friend.Tiny Tiger
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat? Huh

Simba's pushing 11 - his red buddy Tango is pushing 12. Both are rescues so we have only approximate ages for them. Tango recently lost his left eye due to glaucoma. He was blind in that eye when we got him but the pressure just kept building and the eye had to come out. He's fully recovered now. I'm tempted to get him an eye-patch and a parrot.

My old Cyndy lived for another 18 months after being diagnosed with a tumor. I had a very able and nice vet, who did her utmost to keep her alive and also ensured that she had an enjoable life by medicating just in the right measure. She pushed 14 when she finally died, which is a very respectable age for a dog. It still hit me hard when I lost her.

Min, you know I have a soft spot in my heart for Goldens. (Just see my sig...) I sincerely hope your furkid recovers fully!
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Thanks, guys.

The Rescue has an old girl right now who was diagnosed with advanced liver cancer. She is in, essentially, hospice care with one of our most experienced foster families. She does not know she is sick. Running, playing with the other dogs in the pack and eating well. When its her time, we'll know. In the meantime she is living large.

We should all learn from our animals. They know the true meaning of life.

Everything I can cross is crossed for you, me old mate.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Sorry to hear that, Min. We do the best for our fur babies that we know how.
