Dodged a Bullet Yesterday

Dodged a Bullet Yesterday
My dog went in for emergency surgery, bleeding internally. Vet narrowed it down to the spleen and went in to see. It was one of those deals where if he opened him up and there was cancer on more than one organ they would have put him down right then. But there was only one mass and it was bleeding so he removed the spleen and now we just have to wait for the biopsy. 50-50 that it is malignant so we wait on that. Meanwhile, the techs told us that he is recovering quickly and his vital signs are all good. With luck he'll come home this afternoon.

Kept me somewhat distracted yesterday, though.

Sorry to hear that, Min. I imagine it must've been difficult. From what you say the prognosis sounds positive. Hope he's okay and comes home soon.

That sucks. I had a cat die on my bead in front of me one New Years eve. I ignored him over the weekend when he was complaining, no vet to get him to. Turned out even if I had gone at the first sign he was already gone. But even with humans, you can catch things sure, but ultimately your body will fail.
