Seriously even god has to learn to help himself he is the freaking creator of everything.

Nothing harms god, but do you regret being able to do good deeds?

I do good deeds because i want to be a decent human being. For the fact that i do not even believe in a god and or gods i will simply go to hell
because i did for a short amount of time, and now reject the idea of a creator. I do good because i want to do good. I don't do good for brownie points
to get into heaven that is selfish, i help those who need help not for my own sake i do it for others. Sure if i got to hell then god is a hypocrite i helped
others because i simply wanted to not because i was doing it for him.

You didn't answer the question. Because remember all the good deeds you can do for people, God can do it for them, leaving no room for good deeds by you. So do you regret being able to to do good deeds or not?

The question is null and void. God does not exist. By definition of his non-existence, we are the only beings on this planet capable of doing good deeds for the sake of doing good.

It's a null and void question. The question is would you rather have it that you can't do good deeds and live in a perfect happy world. Or do you love being giving the chance to do good deeds.

If it's the latter, complaining about higher opportunities of good deeds, and better quality of goodness, doesn't seem rational.

"evil spirits, demons, and devils" ?  Seriously?

Hilariously, but not surprisingly, prof mentions musical artists throwing up the horns without actually researching that action's actual origins.  Here, I'll help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sign_of_the_horns

For those that don't want to read, its origins are Indian and Italian, and in both cultures were used as a way to ward off evil spirits, not invoke them.  That's also where Ronnie James Dio learned to do it.  He had an Italian grandmother.  From there, it spread like wildfire in pop culture.  But, let's not get facts in the way of a good conspiracy ramble.

The idea of the devil is hilarious because it limits god in some way.  Either god chooses to not do away with the devil once and for all, which makes god not innately good, or he can't, which means he's not all powerful.  Of course, the whole notion of god and satan battling it out for people's souls is a component of the hubris element of faith.  You might be a loser in this life, but god and satan both want you on their team, and they'll fight for you.

I'm honestly confused.  Are you seriously asking which of these following scenarios would be better?
a) Perfectly happy world.  Like, no little kids die of cancer or starvation, no wars, no genocide, etc?
b) World as it is but I get "free will" to do nice things for people?

Come on, I like doing good deeds a lot.  They need doing because the world is a shitty place sometimes.  But I'd MUCH prefer the Perfectly happy world, if that were an option.

If YOU would prefer to keep your delusion of "free will" to do good deeds over saving the suffering, misery and death of millions and billions of innocent people, then you are sociopathic monster (just like all the Abrahamic gods are, so I guess no surprise there).  Sorry.

BTW, this thread made me really internalize the truth and reality of Poe's Law.  Jebus Christus!  The loony is strong in this thread.

^ Beat me to it. You know, there is a village in my province, called Colobraro, which is said to bring very bad luck. I'll spare you the whole story, but in many of the other villages surrounding it, there are little sculptures of hands making the horns gesture on the window sills facing Colobraro. People also do that when turning in its direction.

Doing the horn gesture to someone can also mean that their partner cheats on them, though, so be careful about the context Tongue
