So long as the government forces homophobic baker to bake a cake that reads "homophobes go to hell"

You know, I could accept that kind of system.  A system where if you are in business you have to serve everyone and anyone who has the money to pay.  If Rythmn owns a billboard company, Rhythmn should be required to put up billboards that say "Rythmn is a piece of shit" if someone is willing to pay for it.

That would be equality under the law.  But that is not the system we have.  We have a system were Gays are more equal than homophobes.  A homophobe has to bake a cake that reads, "Congratulations Adam and Steve" with two grooms placed on top.  However a gay baker can refuse to bake a cake that reads, "God hates fags"....with a picture of two grooms in a circle with a diagonal line going thru it.  How is that fair?  How is that equality under the law?

Are you guys really ready to give up all your rights to be self determinant when you engage in business?  I don't even think  chucklehead is ready for that kind of world.

Until such a time as the government forces you, Mr Christrian Baker, to bake a cake that says "I love cocks and satan" - you're not going to have much of a point..and again, as always, you show a complete lack of understanding as to the subject of equality, or rights.

I particularly love the parity between
"Congratulations Adam and Steve"
and
"God hates fags"
-in your mind.

That's awfully explanatory.

The government has forced people to bake cakes for celebrating things they do not support.....like the wedding of Adam and Steve.  Yet it allows others to abstain from baking cakes celebrating things they do not support.'

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-...complaint/

The complaint against this baker was dismissed.

Apparently gays get equal protection under the law.  You have to serve gays....but you don't have to serve homophobes.

So when you guys talk about equal protection under the law....do you really mean equal protection or just equal protection for those groups you favor?

I am glad.....ecstatic really, that to government did not force this baker to bake a cake for a homophobe.  I wish though the Christain homophobic baker got the same treatment.  The homophobic baker should be allowed to abstain from doing business with groups or people they do not support.  What is ironic here, is that it is me who is actually advocating equal treatment under the law.

-and again, that you see parity is explanatory.  Silva's a christian..btw.....the baker in question....you know what.,..perhaps you should actually look into the case you're using as an example before you embarrass yourself further? Don't get me wrong, I'll embarrass you all day if you positively insist...but at some point I do get a little tinge of conscience.

-and at no point in our discussion about cakes and rights will I let you forget that it's all a diversion from a failed attempt to mask your rank bigotry towards homosexuals.

A society that allows bigotry in the public realm is inherently more unstable, and this is borne out by history, including our own.

Asserting as you have that it is about "preventing butthurt", or that equal treatment  laws are attempts to impose social views, is not only inaccurate, but also evidence of a shallow thought-process.
Equal treatment means the government should force a baker to bake a cake that reads, "God hate fags" lest the homophobe not be served.

Are you ready for that?

I didn't realize homophobes were a protected class ... when did that happen? Do you have any links?

Thats right, equal protection under the law is a farce.  Homophobes get no protection.

I'm glad you're starting to realize that.

The only way you can have equal protection is if you let everyone discriminate when they want.  Otherwise some people get to discriminate and some don't.....which is the unequal situation we have now.

I'll split the baby with you.  Everyone who's willing to wear some identifying mark..like an armband or a badge..for example, that says "bigot" can have special treatment..under my regime. After all, I need to know who they are first, so that I can help them. You can be "boss bigot"..I'll put you in charge of handing out all the armbands and badges.

You have no rights, if people are free to trample upon your rights under sanction of law. Get that through your thick skull. You haven't shown that this (the above) is the current situation to begin with, and until you do I'm just going to point and laugh at you.

I didn't realize homophobes were so persecuted that they needed protection. I didn't realize they had been assaulted and even murdered for their bigotry. I hadn't realized that their chosen views put them on an equal footing with what is clearly not a chosen state. When did this unjust persecution of bigots began that entitles them to legal protections?

That's right, it isn't persecution. It's keeping bigotry out of public discourse for the public weal.

Anything else from you about the noble sacrifices of the noble bigots?

Now you are using my argument.

I have been arguing that the discrimination that happens against gays isn't so prevalent that it requires the government to curtail the rights of self determination.  Now you are making that exact same argument.

Hypocrite you are.
