I love learning about you guys! Such an interesting bunch you are!
I'm Brakeman, because I work in the automotive brake manufacturing industry. As an engineer, I diagnose brake failures, assembly or material failures, or just abnormal wear for GM, Ford, Chrysler, Audi, Mazda, & Toyota.
There are lots of "superstitions" and false beliefs about the causes of excess brake dust, warped rotors, and performance gains from slotted and drilled rotors that I do like debunking from mechanics that are attached to them as strongly as some theists are to Noah's ark. Like the catholic church, the brake industry play along with some of these just for the money. "Ceramic brakes??" Indeed, how silly.
Find the cure for Fundementia!

I always see Alex K pop up on FB as a contributor to some science page...I think... I can't really remember what the page is, but I always wonder if its you.
I'm not on FB... Or are you talking about some external site?

I haven't seen it in a while, and when I do I don't click on it, but it may be an external site that posts articles on FB.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."
For context, this is the previous verse:
"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

I like words that start with the letter "p" and Polaris was the first astronomical body I could remember whose common name started with that letter.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

(This post was last modified: April 25, 2015 at 7:51 pm by robvalue.)
I went through a phase many years ago of randomly adding "value" to the end of words. Not really sure why, it just sounded funny.
"Pass the salt-value please."
So when I was first picking a username when I started on the Internet, I did the same thing to what people tend to call me; Rob.
It's such a stupid name it is virtually never taken anywhere, so I can be robvalue everywhere.

Mine is a nod to my maternal grandmother. It is a concatenation of her first name and last initial.
She lived an amazing life; born in 1889 on the Minnesota prairie at a time when dying from starvation by spring or by Sioux violence was quite possible. She saw the rise of the automobile, the airplane, two world wars, man on the moon and the beginnings of the information age.
She was an incredibly tough person who raised 5 children spanning 8 years during the great depression.
And she made great cookies.
She died in 1993 of natural causes at age 104.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat?

You win.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
