Just before everyone dismisses them, worth remembering that the cornerstone of some of the big party manifestos have been stolen from the MRLP. eg. Passports for animals, 24hr licensing.

I love the MRLP. Every single member who stands pays out £500 (you need 5% to recoup your deposit), and to date I don't think any of them have (checked WIKI, they haven't). That's dedication for you.
Not sure if you're joking or not, but in case you aren't, the "Monster Raving Loony Party" are a satirical party and are not a serious movement, so you can't really compare them to the Tea Party, which although in some ways is extreme, is still a serious political movement with a lot of support behind it.

Yep UKIP.

My mother in law says she will vote UKIP but is unable to articulate why. Just seems to have a vague dissatisfaction with the two main parties. Could be worse. She could vote Tory.

It was a joke. >_>

I also wouldn't dismiss the MRLP as satirical out of hand. They did have peers remember, and as I said, some of their policies have actually been implemented. Sure they look all wacky, and most of them are, but I think if you were to talk to an MRLP candidate you'd find them pretty serious about the issues they were talking about.

Especially after this recent attempt to attack free speech with his complete misunderstanding of "islamophobia". I actually find him less believable and trustworthy than Cameron and that's saying something.

I can see this election being the closest yet and I wouldn't rule anything out.

To be honest I don't understand how English parties teaming up with Scottish ones actually works or what it means.

I don't particularly trust him either I just don't see a good reason for him to lie in this case, and I haven't heard about the free speech thing? If it's conflating all criticism of Islam with racism then i'm sure it'll annoy me

Current projection from the Guardian :-

Con 276
Lab 267
SNP 55
LD 27
Other 21
UKIP 3
Green 1

Both main parties can't get to 323 without the SNP, the only way to make this current voting system work is for Scotland to go independent

And when you suspend your individual beauty you also give up a lot of your humanity. You will do things in the name of a group that you would never do on your own. Injuring, hurting, killing, drinking are all part of it, because you've lost your identity, because you now owe your allegiance to this thing that's bigger than you are and that controls you.”  - George Carlin

Here's some stuffs about millbandybrain and his totalitarian islam toadying efforts:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics...-vote.html

http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/coffeehouse...mediately/

Pitifully, if you break down what he is actually saying, it's "Being irrationally scared of Islam is going to be made an aggravated crime."

If you're going to bastardise a phrasing so utterly milliband, you have to be pretty clear on what distorted definition you have in your brain. And why exactly Islam needs special protection above and beyond discrimination, hate speech laws etc. that already exist.

Why does Allah need so much protection? Lost the lead in his pencil? Whoops, I said pencil. You can draw with that. Draw pictures of a bloke from ages ago. Blasphemy. There's milliband now with his ball-gag.

You may not like this particular policy but the alternative is the fox hunting, money for their rich buddy tories.

It's almost a shame we can't vote for each policy so we can cherry pick, but I'm afraid you vote for the least worst option.

I agree, each policy would be good.

I'm not voting for fox hunting either, but I agree if I had to choose between fox hunting and this bollocks I'd take this bollocks.

I don't like backing a twat to stop a bigger twat, I'm sticking to who I think represents what I think is important the most.

I can understand the strategic vote, it's just not for me.

I'm not sure I believe him. In this view he doesn't have as much to lose by saying that now and reneging on his statement because he has to appeal to the rest of the UK. Look at how much the Tories lie and people still vote them back in. It's very easy to stand up in front of the camera and appear reasonable and a good choice if you are lying through your teeth. The Tories lied so much before the last election they have since removed all their speeches and videos from on-line sources and the wayback machine.

Clegg lied about tuition fees but he went back on his word in spectacular fashion. Now that means the end of the Lib Dems. They're finished as a party. But it's possible that Miliband might be waiting for a full majority the next time rather than blow his chances this time. Westminster doesn't like coalitions. What Miliband doesn't realise though is that if he lets the Tories in rather than work with SNP then he is also finished in Scotland. Same as the Tories are finished in Scotland.

Now the Scots are in the position of having all or almost all of their seats for one party working solely for Scotland and still never able to have a leader at Westminster. Whereas before they were either ignored or taken for granted which amounts to the same thing. What this means is that the case for independence becomes even stronger.

I don't know, if the scots realise they can't get power by voting SNP they will have to vote Labour next time. Miliband may be playing the long game.
