A landslide majority of 650!
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Elections are always Hobson's Choice. I didn't have a Green candidate in my constituency so had to go with Lib Dems as the 'one I don't hate as much as all the others'...

Fuck, fuck, bastards. It seems like Tories are going to get a sufficient number to rule alone
 I don't like UKIP but this election seems to highlight why the current system is stupid, at least it seems so to me. UKIP are getting thousands or even tens of thousands of votes, coming second in many places, and all those votes get totally wiped off and ignored. They have 1 seat to show for all that. They tell people to get out and vote, but all those people trying to stop the Tories voted for nothing, no matter who they voted for, in Tory areas. Can anyone explain why this isn't stupid? Why is it done by area and not just adding up votes across the whole country? Feel free to send me a private message.

Apparently under the Alternative Vote system that was voted on a few years ago (Lib Dems insisted on it) then the Conservatives would have even more seats, as all the UKIPers would put Conservatives 2nd.
I think this will be good for the country and provide some stability, but that's just me and most on here will disagree. RE: 2015 UK General Election

I see. With this many parties now, the actual results in number of seats seems to be a wild misrepresentation of the actual percentage of people supporting each party throughout the country. For example UKIP have 1 seat like I say, but they probably have at least 100 times as many votes nationwide as the Green Party, who also have 1 seat. I don't get what this premature filtering by area accomplishes. Maybe I'm missing something obvious.
I guess it's an attempt to stop the result being skewed by overwhelming majorities in certain areas but... each person is a person still! Feel free to send me a private message.

You could do Proportional Representation, but then:
1) You lose the local aspect of having an MP represent your area 2) The old arguement was"There won't be a strong stable government, and we'll end up with coalition" RE: 2015 UK General Election

You never actually see your MP between elections anyway, except if the place you work for is holding some function with free food...
