Marijuana

RE: Marijuana
Uhh.. no. One only dries it, no "preparations" are needed. No physical addiction occurs no matter the quality or quantity of THC.

Psychological addiction, that's another story. But psychological addictions can happen with anything. Food, sex, T.V., toe-nail biting, cigarettes (in addition to the physical), discussion forums, video games, Daystar, jogging, nose-picking, cheese cake, whatever.
I used to tell a lot of religious jokes. Not any more, I'm a registered sects offender.

RE: Marijuana
Oh right. I think someone said here that you can get bad marijuana though? I think I heard like at least what you are given can have stuff in it that's bad for you. Messed up bad marijuana...
Maybe thats why some people are anti-marijuana? Because of some bad cases when crap was put in it that shouldn't be? And because of how its treated in society, people jump to conclusions and think its all bad. Or something?
I dunno. I'm only speculating.
Just wondering?

RE: Marijuana
Marijuana isn't legal? I forget small facts like these when every party I go to (okay, if I'm honest that's a small number) is filled with the fumes from it. So many people do it, and they all know it's better than alcohol or cigarettes. Who was it that said the government don't care about drugs, they only care that you use THEIR drugs which they can tax you on? It was either Chris Rock or George Carlin I'm sure...

I'm pretty damn sure Chris Rock said it now! Either on bigger and blacker or never scared.
I think perhaps George Carlin also said it though yes Smile
He certainly seemed to express similar views on the subject :p

Chris Rock Wrote:They don't want you to use your drugs, they want you to use their drugs. So every night on TV you see a weird-ass drug commercial trying to get you hooked on some legal shit. And they just keep naming symptons until they get one that you fucking got. Okay! It's like "are ya sad? are ya lonely? Got athlete's foot? Are ya hot? Are ya cold? What ya got? You want this pill, huh, motherfucker? Ya got to take this pill". They dont even tell you what the pill does. You see a lady on a horse or a man in a tub and they just keep naming symptons. "Are ya depressed? Are ya lonely? Do ya teeth hurt?". What the fuck. I saw a commercial the other day that said "do you go to bed at night and wake up in the morning?". OH SHIT THEY GOT ONE. I GOT THAT! I'M SICK! I NEED THAT PILL!

Ahhhh I love it. Sorry for the off-topic Tongue

RE: Marijuana
The topic's about marijuana. And marijuana is a drug. Maybe its not about marijuana specifically. But I don't think its that off-topic.
Great quote! Chris Rock rocks :p

That is true, and you're right. Anyone with cash can get marijuana pretty easily. Anyone with the space can grow their own. Most of these people will never see the wrong side of the law regarding these activities.

However, millions of people are in prison for possessing marijuana. It's fucked up, it's wrong, and it needs to end.

Nevermind all the uses of hemp which are thrown away because it's also been deemed illegal, despite not possessing any of the psychoactive properties of marijuana.

When you say you are "very anti-marijuana", do you mean you personally don't use it, or you think it should be outlawed, and nobody should use it?

Maybe it's not addictive in the way other drugs and substances are e.g nicotine, heroin (although there seems to be conflicting ideas about that), but my experience in Scotland was quite 'horrific' and disturbing. There were no redeeming features about using this recreational substance. I can see that this situation was extreme and bears no resemblance to someone who takes the odd joint to relax etc. I've read a good deal of articles regarding the physchological effects of it on the brain, and that is what puts me off it the most. I'd rather not take the risk. Alcohol, on the other hand has got redeeming features, it is a 'food' in a sense and if taken in moderation can benefit digestion etc. As the law stands in Britain, marijuana is illegal and I am happy about that. They should make cigarettes illegal too -do the smokers a favour, well maybe that is going too far.
