She said, "Atheists don't really believe in evolution. Because, if the point of life according to Darwinian evolution is to pass along genes, why don't non-believers have hundreds of babies each to maximize the impact of their existence, if they really believe it."

I ROFLed about the place. I presume she assumed the 'non-believers' were men.

She would have to assume the non-believers were men who were seriously, fucking hot and/or not living in a society without laws against rape or child support.

I assume your friend is not a captain of a debate team.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

I guess if a guy had hundreds of babies, he would definitely have maximized his impact.  Repeatedly.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
