The Argument for God from Fucking

I had this argument from a Christian friend of mine the other day, I call it the argument from fucking:
She said, "Atheists don't really believe in evolution. Because, if the point of life according to Darwinian evolution is to pass along genes, why don't non-believers have hundreds of babies each to maximize the impact of their existence, if they really believe it."
I ROFLed about the place. I presume she assumed the 'non-believers' were men.

It shows a failure to understand the principles of evolution, and their relevance (as well as irrelevance) to various aspects of one's life.
"A wise man ... proportions his belief to the evidence."

Doesn't the bible tell people to "go forth and multiply"? If she is a Christian shouldn't she be currently occupied with a newborn or be pregnant at the moment?
But even the concept of that is strange, why does god command people to multiply when he knows they're tainted with sin and bound to eternal death? The best explanation I've been given is that it was god's plan so that later he could send jesus to redeem us. But wouldn't it be more logical to create a new couple to repopulate the Earth - one without sin? Then they say this new couple would just sin again. All I can say is "Then why the hell create us at all!?"

Some might, if that's what gave them joy and they could afford such a thing. The funny thing about the meaning of life is that it's a personal question. You decide what the meaning of your life is, and I'll decide mine. aving craploads of unprotected sex with as many women as possible is not what makes my life fulfilling. It's just a hobby.

Belief is defined by psychologists as the psychological state in which one accepts a premise or proposition to be true. Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy had this to say:
" Contemporary analytic philosophers of mind generally use the term “belief” to refer to the attitude we have, roughly, whenever we take something to be the case or regard it as true."
So, if you accept the premise that evolution is true, then make no mistake, you do believe it.
But that doesn't mean that all beliefs have equal merit. Beliefs based on demonstrable evidence and valid/sound logic (as with evolution) have much more credibility than beliefs based on faith, emotion, etc (as with belief in a god).
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

The response is simple:
"Christians don't really believe in their God. They claim that the point of life if to glorify God, yet if they believed that, they'd be glorifying him 24-7."
Hopefully, she would get the point and not just get needlessly butthurt.
