Yeah, right on! I demand that my soul is an Aleph 3 continuum. Because it sounds cool and it's really a lot.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

People, people, this is all really straightforward.
Entity on the left, holding shiny compass-like thing: a person
Entity on the right, standing awkwardly: that person's soul

Don't worry, my friend. If this be the end, then so shall it be.

I've never seen a soul but I've seen the soul train.

That would make a great movie. It'd be like fallen just rather than touching his victim the killer would throw pepper in their face to trade bodies.

No. I've actually never seen this one, though it might be worth it. I've heard it's not that good. ?
I think the first one lost a fair amount of money because 1) it didn't get great reviews, 2) they took out references to the enemy being the church, replacing it with a generic totalitarian authority, and 3) people still boycotted it because of the source material's content. Obviously, the interplay between these three things is complex.
I really think the trilogy could be brilliantly fantastically done. It would need the right director, a studio willing to put artistic integrity over profits and not shy away from the source material or the events in the (especially later) books (fat chance, I know, but people have made controversial films before), and an absolutely dynamite script/cast that would ensure we couldn't stop talking about it/forget about it after a few weeks. A lot to ask, I know, but I think the books are good/beloved enough that someone will try again in my lifetime.

There was a thread dealing with that. What would you want to do forever. (One of my major issues with the god thing.)

I only worry because there still isn't a vaccine for souls.
Why aren't we funding that?

That slight chance of heaven is offset by the near certainty of an endless eternal and infinite torment of your butthole by horrific demons that shove their red hot barbed wire wrapped fists deep into your sensitive viscera, while gigantic and disgusting spiders eat your tongue out of your mouth while you are screaming endlessly.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
