Let's put our philosophy hats on for a second.
How come we can casually converse about dvda, etc
But toilet scenes are taboo.
I believe the toilet scene in "Psycho" was pushing new ground in cinema...

I suppose there's nothing more to it than just because we need  to crap doesn't mean we need to enjoy looking at it!

You are right about the DVDA stuff pushing the line. But if you'll notice, we didn't ask that he remove the picture, just to hide it so everyone who sees the thread doesn't necessarily see it. Other than me adding hide tags to his post, nothing else happened. I don't think that makes toilet scenes taboo.

Yeah, it's not fun to look at, but I'm still curious why we look at it and squint and look away.

I have a theory! (yes, I may be full of said contents).

It reminds our primordial subconscience that that is where we evolved from.

Since it can be harmful to ingest feces, I could see that being an evolutionary reason for wanting to steer clear of it.

I'm not similarly repulsed by my rabbits' feces, which would be much, much less likely to hurt me if I ate them. Fits the hasty hypothesis.
