Ah, 'muricans, why U no think before U speak?

Texas is not America.   It can boil in oil, eaten by worms, dissolve in acid, and be covered by lava for all I care.

Consoling  It's still the ... most vocal part of America! Tongue

I wish we could throw Texas out of the union.

Unfortunately, that would only encourage them to say that it is god's way of punishing them for not enforcing the Christian equivalent of sharia law.

Bill Nye is poobah over at the Planetary Society (I'm a member) and I am somewhat surprised the board selected him. For an org that depends on the public for donations, typically, you see figureheads that don't draw lightning strikes. It's refreshing, but it just strikes me as a little unusual.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Bill Nye is out of touch here.

Houston is known as Bayou City. It is low lying and anyone that's been there knows that it doesn't take much rain to cause flash floods and cover roadways, particularly closer to downtown and through the I-10 corridor. Floods, even those of this magnitude, simply aren't that uncommon.

The following link chronicles some of the history.

Nye would very quickly take AGW deniers to task for making jokes about climate change summits being cancelled due to cold weather by rightly asserting that isolated weather events are an insufficient basis to make general claims about climate. This, unfortunately, is exactly what he's done here. Nye should know that he can't tie this rain event to climate change.

Actually, the part of Texas I'm in has a lot of farmers, and was under a drought. So everyone down here seems convinced that the flooding is because we prayed for rain.

And,.that the drought in California would end if they turned from their Heathen ways and prayed for rain.
