IF in the end, you find that God does exist ....

RE: IF in the end, you find that God does exist ....
No, and everyone has already given all the reasons why, more eloquently than I could.

Here, let me ask my 8 year old the question the way you worded it (since you seem to think even children will give better answers than us)....

Ok, here is her answer. "No, because the existence of a God doesn't matter, in the end what matters is your actions and what kind of person you are."

There, my kid gave a damn good answer in my opinion!

RE: IF in the end, you find that God does exist ....
IF in the end I found that any gods exist, and I could be certain that they are indeed gods, the most I could possibly do is acknowledge their existence as gods. I'm not an idiot; put me in front of a genuine unicorn and I will accept the existence of at least one unicorn.

What I am not required to do is prostrate myself in front of any god and call it mine - that goes far more than double for the psychopathic god of the Abrahamic religions.

But before we even get that far, there's the crucial matter of that "IF". Theists always seem to want to leapfrog that bit and land on whatever pet presuppositionalist card they're trying to palm.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

No being that demands my worship is worthy of having it.

Or why a god would want or care for worship.

Judging by the general caliber of his followers I'd say you're pretty well screwed on the "not a jerk" hope, Rob.

Try to give better responses than my 5 year old.

Yes, or no is fine.

No. I'd stop being an atheist, but there's a long road to go before I start worshiping the guy voluntarily. He has a lot of explaining to do.

Remember we're being held to the standard of a five-year-old girl. Randy's citations are truly mindbending.

Hey, please tell your kid good job from me! A very good answer Smile

I'm kind of embarrassed about mine now, can I go back and change it... Blush

I'll never understand this obsession with wanting to worship everything. What's the deal?

RE: IF in the end, you find that God does exist ....
It would all depend on what type of god and or gods existed. If it were the abrahamic god no i wouldn't give my worship to that being.
On the other hand if the god(s) in question are not that god it would have my respect some what. Enough to accept that being but not worship him or
her or it. So would i have to explain anything of course not. Why would i have to explain anything if a lived a half way decent life doing good just because
i didn't believe in said god i shouldn't have to be punished for it.

Maybe we'll kick back and have a good old laugh at the ridiculous stories people have been making up about him.
